Grammar · Particles
의, possession
Pattern
[Owner] 의 [thing]
의 works like English 's: 친구의 가방 is 'my friend's bag'. As a particle it is normally pronounced 에 (e), and the romanisation here follows that. In speech it is very often dropped altogether, so 친구 가방 and 우리 집 are completely normal.
The mistake to avoid
저의 and 나의 contract to 제 and 내. Say 제 이름, since 저의 이름 sounds stiff in conversation.
